Nutrition
Nutrition? For many it’s simply thinking of what to eat from which food group in order to promote health. Can you imagine being able to find out which foods work for you, rather than going with the “one size fits all” approach to eating?
I had the pleasure of meeting Amy Bondar a few years ago, and was so pleased to learn from her what works for me regarding nutrition. I started my nutrition journey in February, 2007, as I was tired of feeling tired. I knew that food was my source of energy, along with exercise and sleep, but felt like I wasn’t doing any of them particularly well. In connecting with Amy, I learned about me, the foods that work for me, and in a few months, my energy had greatly improved…and I lost weight – bonus! It was so interesting to think differently about food, and to have wonderful results so quickly. I had made the personal commitment to self care, and it was an amazing feeling! Another bonus was the results on my annual lab tests the next year – cholesterol and blood sugar were ideal!
Fast forward to 2011…the journey continues… When I eat something that doesn’t work for me, I can feel the decrease in energy quick quickly. Knowing how to be aware and to adjust my nutritional intake in order to increase energy is familiar now, and has become a part of my personal health plan.
Consider checking into what works for you nutritionally by connecting with a nutritionist or dietician. Ask around to find out about practitioners in your area. It’s an exciting journey…and you’re worth it!
